And I am still “travelling” around the world – this time we are in Paris! Oh la-la!! My girlfriend had a birthday and I thought a little “Bonjour!” from France would be a good idea. A nice vase in decoupage technique is a result of this idea :). I was lucky to have a beautiful paper napkin for decoupage with the two outstanding Paris monuments.

What is the first place we think when we think of Paris – Eiffel Tower! One of the most famous and loved symbols of France. Built by Gustave Eiffel in 1889 as a monument to commemorate French Revolution, it became the most well-known romantic place to visit and enjoy the magnificent view of Paris.

The other famous architectural place in Paris is Champs Elysees – the Arc of Triumph! Echoing ancient Roman architecture, this arch was designed by Jean Chalgrin in the 19th century to celebrate the glory of imperial armies during Napoleon times. It is another largest monument (the same as Eiffel Tower) of this kind in the world.

For the project I used a glass jar, acrylic paint, brushes (synthetic #8), modeling paste to create a 3D texture effect, amethyst metallic acrylic paint for a glossy touch up, decoupage glue (any) and a varnish (or acrylic top coat spray).

I didn’t cover the jar with a primer this time, as I needed it to be more transparent for inside light source. Please see the step by step instructions of how to do it and watch tutorials below.

Vu’a la! 😉
